Guides—rename post type, add custom link

Hi,

  1. I’d like to change the name of the “Guide” post type (to “team”). How can I do this?

  2. Furthermore, I’d like to add a custom link. I’ve seen this post

but I don’t see and “Custom link” options under “Guide Options”. Please advise.

Hello,

  1. Do you mean you want to edit the core theme files and edit the post types to customize the behavior of this post type, or just rename it and no other changes are required? Can you please also clarify why and what are you trying to achieve so that I can let you know if this is possible without editing core theme files or if you will need customizations.
  1. Hello, the custom link option is there under guide options tab. Please see the attached screenshot below:

  1. I just wanted to change the name, nothing else (because it use it to show our co-founders on the homepage and it would be confusing to have “guide” in the slug). But it’s not mission-critical. If not possible, I’ll just block access to the pages.

  2. This is strange. It shows Linkedin rather than Custom link for me. Perhaps you had helped me early on to achieve that, though I cannot recall any documentation on this. In essence, I’d like to show Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin and then have a custom link when someone clicks on the photo.

looks like this field is added after the update, and linked in is gone

Hi. Was the original question ever addressed? I also would like to change “Guide” to be called something else, if that’s possible. No other changes required.

where and how to just change the slug name “guide” from the post type? we do not want to show it as domain.com/guide/abc…, we want to replace this word of “guide” in the slug, how to? thanks
