Permission denied for the selected page template

When I try to add page template in the child theme, it shows permission denied for the selected page template.

Hello,

Do you mean you copy the file from main theme and add it to child theme via FTP to modify it, or something else. Please clarify how you are doing it and also, if via FTP, please check the file permission weather its 644 or not.

Sorry for the confusion. Here’s my issues: When I create a page, I want to give it a template, but:

can’t set a template for it.

2)This is another issue, that is: when I go to Customize->Menus, I tried to add a menu item to the current menu, But after click the save&publish button, I can’t save it, it always prevent me from saving the change. However, I can save the change in other parts such as layout&designs. Could you explain this?
