Product Picture is automatically added to the Product Gallery

Hello,

i have some problems with the frontend-layout. When i choose a productpicture, it is automaticly added to the product gallery. Is it possible to change this? Because the productpicture is in another size and don’t fit into the productgallery. The resolution and the cut looks not good, this way.

Hello Jan,

The product image can be a single image or a carousel when you add more images. This is not added to the “Gallery” tab. It is only added to the main product image. For gallery, you can select individual images separately and remove them at any time.

As shown in your first image - there are “Product Image” which shows single large image, and “Product Gallery” which is added to the single large image as carousel. And then there is a separate gallery which is shown in the tabbed content.

thanks for your answer, but i guess i was not precise enough. The product image, wich is shown f.e. in the “featured tours” at the homepage has a differnt format, then the images of the productgallery. So when you click the tour f.e. at the homepage and land at the page for the product you see the productgallery (in the first picture on the button). The productgallery images wil be shown together with the product image. The product image is the first of the carousel, this is my problem, i don’t want the product image to show up in the Product gallery (when you click the tour) because of the “wrong” size and the format. The images i addad the productgallery are all looking nice and clean, but the first image of the product gallery (wich is automaticly the product image) is not fitting into the layout.

So is there any possibility, that the product image is not automaticly shown as the first image in the product gallery?

Thank you for clarifying it further. I believe you mean the “Featured Image” or “Produktbild” image as shown in your screenshot here: https://www.support.waituk.com/hc/user_images/I0gDbCJtxLEw7o86UE6Jzg.png should not be the first image that gets displayed here: https://www.support.waituk.com/hc/user_images/uXijVIquMABedBa2s5b_3g.png

Is that what you mean? Sorry, but just need to make sure I understand properly…

Hello Jan,

Thank you for confirming that. And that is how the theme shows images by default though. The featured image will be the first main image for product, and the ones you add in “Product Gallery” will be the images shown as 2nd and 3rd images as slides. These images should all be for the main product image size and you can chose them individually.

I am not entirely sure, but you may be confusing the “Gallery Images” which are for showing in Gallery tab, and are of different sizes, with the “Product Gallery” images, which are for showing additional images as slides in the main picture.

Please let me know if I can clarify it further.
