is there a way to get rid of the space between the slider and menu? I attached a screenshot of the space I want to remove.

The gap is added by WordPress dashboard and only viewable when you are logged in as admin. If you logout and try, or visit site from another browser where you are not logged in as admin you wont see this.
Additionally, this is also removed from the latest theme version.
