Two Questions About Guides

Hello.

Two quesions:

  1. I see it is possible to add a menu item for “All Guides” to the navigation bar. This is great! The only issue is that when you navigate to the page it says “Archive: Guides” at the top of the page. Is it possible to change this text or substitute a different means of adding the page?

  1. What is the ideal dimensions for a guide photo so that it shows correct in all instances? Home page guide section, All Guides page, and individual guide pages. I see in the demo the individual guide page images are stretched, and I am having the same issue.

I have also noticed that depending on the dimensions of the photo, the guide pages use either the full image or a landscape crop - is there a way to control this? I would prefer to use the landscape crop if possible. (screenshots available if needed)

Thank you!

Hello Christopher,

The pages you have mentioned in both your query 1 and 2 are default WordPress single post pages rather than the theme pages. These are not used in the theme itself, and come from the WordPress itself as default archive pages. So I would recommend creating a custom page with your image and all using WPBakery VC and then adding the link to that page as shown below:

If you would like to customize them, you will find a step by step guide here on how to customize them: https://www.smashingmagazine.com/2015/04/building-custom-wordpress-archive-page/ or you can use theme customization service like WP Kraken add/modify the templates.

Thank you

This resolved my issue, thanks!
