Hello, although this is not a built in feature, and was shown because the user had requested it, still the step by step guide is provided there to add gallery: Adding Gallery to category pages - #4 by sanjeev and as you can see in screenshot, the gallery images are displayed full width.
So, if you are in need of someone who knows how to customize WordPress and add custom elements etc. and can do this for you, I would recommend using Envato Studio or WPKraken

I did exactly step by step, that is not a real customising, it’s a copy and past action.
So can you let us know why it’s not working?
(Sorry I put wrong tittle on the topic. It is adding " gallery" not sidebar. Can you change for future users?)
